Taken Aback

Every now and then I like to do a photo shoot just for the heck of it! It gives me an opportunity to try out something different and improve in my photographing abilities and its just plain old fun! It makes it especially easy when you have as good of looking family and friends as I do. So me and my best friend Katie decided to take some vintage looking pictures because quite frankly, I'm a sucker for that old fashioned feel! Take a look at a few of my favorites from the sesh.

Reinvented

Naturally, coming home one of the things I most looked forward to was being in my old room again. Being able to have an entire room ALL to myself, sleeping in my QUEEN sized bed, and loving on all my clothes that I had to leave behind for 5 months.  But when I came home, I decided that I was unsatisfied with the decorations on my wall next to my bed so I decided to spice things up and redecorate! And once I have an idea in my head, it plagues me until I do something about it, I had a vision that needed to be fulfilled! So here are a few pictures of my little interior design endeavor, I'm quite pleased with the results.

 

A close up of some of the different elements:

1.  I framed a vintage picture of my grandma (Isn't she GORGEOUS?!) and mom
2. I decoupaged a plain old J with this cool pattern and some shiny mod podge
3. A little shelf for some of my classic books
4. I took a couple magazine clips of these pictures I adored and reprinted them in sepia. To cover up the writing, I made this swirly design.
5. On a framed picture of one of my favorite childrens books, the Velveteen Rabbit, I glued a couple of old fashioned keys (I clearly have an obsession with keys)
6. I framed this vintage looking paper I found at the store

Land of Oz

I'm going to make the assumption that hardly anyone (if anyone at all) took a gander at my last slideshow that I posted. So in regards to that, I decided to waste some more time and make a second slideshow highlighting my time in Australia! Fortunately this slideshow is a bit shorter.
So for those of you that are actually going to take the time to watch it, enjoy! Also, I've provided some favorite pictures I took while in Australia. Hope ya dig em.

Far far away

So I'm sure some of you have been pondering about my travels in New Zealand and Australia. For those of you that are curious, I created a slideshow of my adventures in New Zealand to paint a clearer picture of some of the things that took place while abroad. It may take a century and some of the pictures are out of order, but I hope you enjoy what you see nonetheless!
